I’m not a history buff but this book as turned me into one. It was fascinating to see how events tuned out. I mean what are the chances? What if Alexander didn’t die? Would he conquered the entire world? Why did the Mongols retreat back? What would have happened if they hadn’t? These are some fascinating questions and historians try to answer them.
It makes me wonder is it destiny? fate? why did the events turned out the way they have? Was there some sort of supernatural power influencing the outcome?
After reading the book, i sort of arrive to a conclusion that Desire drives history. When two desires of different ideology clashes. It leads to war and suffering.
